10/12/2022 - Knee-mail

I’m writing this as an e-mail. Actually that’s pretty cool. By the time I finish all I’ll do is press the “send” button and in a matter of seconds the latest HFC notes and updates arrive at your fingertips. I just got back from the post office, stood in line for 20 minutes, mailed a single package. If I were sending you all these updates by “snail mail” it would be two to three days getting to you. (unless it got lost, but of course that never happens) An even quicker way to get word out is by text (t-mail). We’re all programed to immediately look at our phone every time we hear the “ding” notification. Now there is a faster means of communication, instantaneous even, for those who are connected. (John 14:26) the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 16:13) when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. At Pentecost Jesus pressed the “send” button and each disciple was filled with the Holy Spirit of truth who instantaneously speaks the guidance of Jesus’ life-giving word into our hearts and minds. I can block e-mail and silence texts but Lord may I never close my eyes and ears to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Speak Lord, I’m listening!
