When I was a young kid and it was time for lunch or supper I’d get called to the table where the meal was laid out ready to eat, and I ate. Eventually I learned someone prepared the meal (mom) and someone worked  to earn and purchase food (dad) and even later I learned farmers grew, truckers transported, factories processed. And as my learning increased so has my gratitude for what it takes to put a meal on the table. Psalm 65 attributes to God all the authority to provide. Jesus does the same in Matthew 6. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving, is an opportunity for each of us to reveal what we know about God and demonstrate our trust in God in genuine gratitude as the source of everything on my plate and my life. Recognize the presence of God and proclaim the word of 1 Chronicles 29:12-13 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. PK
