Yesterday the “tire low pressure” warning signaled on my car’s dash screen. So I checked the tires, they are not low. Next I checked google for instructions to get the message to turn off. Here’s the process. “Turn the ignition key to on, then off. Do that three times. Then depress and release the brake pedal and turn the ignition key to on and leave it on. Then, do this three times. Repeat if necessary.” It was necessary. Three times it was necessary!!! The low pressure message is still on and my high blood pressure…well, you get it. Why does it seem it’s the small insignificant things that tend to get under our skin? Jesus asked the same question in Luke 6:41 Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? I don’t have to turn to google for instructions. Here is Jesus’ direction: (Luke 6:42) first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly. Only Jesus can do that kind of eye surgery so I ask Him daily to give me His vision of compassion and mercy as I see others as He sees me; a person dependent on Grace!
