If you’re into astronomy this is an exciting week. 1: Vacation Bible School is in full swing and it’s been “out of this world”. Literally, our theme is all about God’s creation: stars, planets and each of us! 2: Starting this week, if you get up before dawn you can look in the eastern sky and see five of our sister planets all lined up in a row. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. And as a bonus, for the next couple mornings the crescent moon will in line between Venus and Mars. What’s the significance of this? Nothing! Unless of-course you’re looking for the creator behind the wonders of creation. Then the significance is everything! And then you see Jesus: The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:15-17 So when the stars align, it’s not some secret code or sign, it’s a shout-out to God’s steadfast love through Jesus who by his grace holds this universe, and my life together.
