7/6/2022 - The Narrow Pathway

hfcnministries

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? It’s a question of our times. The thing is, it’s a question written around 3000 years ago by the writer of Psalm 119: 9. Why are we still having to ask that question? We’ve all been there, young. That time of life when we’re reckless and impulsive, unconcerned with consequences. Then suddenly we’re older and the question is still relevant. How can an older person stay on the path of purity? That time of life when we’re immovable, unteachable, critical, overzealous for the past. The question is timeless, ageless, but so is the answer which the Psalmist also offers. “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.” (Ps. 119:9,14-15) I guess after 3000 years the young and the old should have learned this secret of walking with Jesus. I’m still learning. Help me Lord Jesus not to neglect your Word!
