Once when Jesus’ disciples were leaving the temple they commented on the beauty of the stonework craftmanship. And rather than agree Jesus said, “what you see here, the time is coming when not one stone will remain”. The next question, and one we often ask, “when?” Sunday we will abandon daylight savings and return to “normal” time. We humans like to think we are in control of time. We’ve divided the world into 24 time zones, the year into 12 months, the day into 24 hours, all so time can be ours to control, especially our tomorrow. But wisdom tells us (Proverbs 27:1) Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. And Jesus asks us (Matthew 6:27) Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? To ask “when” is to concern ourselves with tomorrow and miss “now”. To ask when is to waste now and now is where God is present. (Matthew 6:33-34) so seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,…Each day has enough trouble of its own. PK
