I saw a commercial today, no idea what they were selling, but in it were adults playing team kickball on a baseball field. Yesterday, parked in Walmart’s lot there was a “limited edition” Barbie Jeep. The fastest growing sporting trend is Pickle-Ball, a geriatric game of tennis. And did you know the number one buyer of Legos is 20 somethings. What’s happening? Next thing you know we’ll be riding banana bikes to work! I’m not a social analyzer, just an observer, and it seems to me when we return to childhood pastimes it’s a sign adulting has become overly complicated. And FYI, it has! There is another option available to anyone stressed and overwhelmed: Jesus says (Matthew 6:25-33) “I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” I like playing kick-ball and a hard kick releases a lot of pent up anxiety, temporarily. Lasting peace comes when I chose to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”. (Matthew 6:33) PK
