When I was young, very young, my mom would go to my closet and choose the clothes I was to wear to school the next day. Eventually that choice became mine, influenced by the fashion of the times. The other day I was shopping and it struck me how four food items dominated the shelves, each with a multitude of choices: breakfast cereal, chips, cookies and carbonated drinks. Today we wake up to the choices made by U.S. citizens for government leadership. That choice will come around again all too soon. And tomorrow I’ll choose what to wear and what to eat for breakfast, and the next day and so on. Few choices are forever, except one. Joshua 24:15 then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods in whose land you are living. [or] for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. This choice is an eternal destiny choice, an either/or choice, an unavoidable choice. The great thing about this choice is today you can choose to serve the Lord. PK
