How do you drop an egg off a two-story building without it cracking? That was the challenge of one of my daughters in her high school physics class. Each student was given an equal list of allowable materials to construct their egg vessel. Not to brag (but I am) my daughter’s was the only egg to survive. She built her vessel modeled after NASA’s Mars probe lander that bounced safely onto the “Red “ planet. All the other kids came with complicated structures and braggart confidence and even teased my daughter’s simple design. (HA!) We all know, and even have experienced, that life can, at times, be fragile. We try our best to build securities to guard our health, wealth, relationships, confident our efforts will prevail. We’re surprised when life’s bumps cause cracks. Could it be that our complicated efforts at security are not meant to last? Maybe if we surrender our ways and seek God’s design we will survive, no matter how high the fall. (Proverbs 21:2) A person may think their own ways are right, but the LORD weighs the heart.
