"Get Moving" 10-01-2026

The traffic light turns red, the car in front of you stops and you also stop behind it. You keep your eye on the traffic light waiting for it to turn green. It’s not long, the light turns green, now you’re waiting for the car in front to start moving. It doesn’t. How long do you wait till you sound your horn? (this could be an ouch moment for some of you.) The thing is, there have been times I’ve been the front car. I’ve gotten distracted: sometimes passenger conversations, usually my own thoughts, rarely the phone but I miss the green light. I appreciate the light tap of the horn behind me reminding me to get moving. I don’t appreciate the blaring horn as if they rule the road. (don’t be that car) In Hebrews we hear the light tap of the horn: And let us consider how we may (beep) spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25) It’s at our in-gatherings of worship we are encouraged to then go and express Jesus’ love in doing His good. The light’s green, see you this Sunday. PK
