Law of gravity 08/14/2024

Legend has it that as a boy Isaac Newton, while sitting under an apple tree had a fruit fall from the tree onto his head. That’s likely a myth but Newton did refer to falling fruit as the basis for his gravity hypothesis. Why, for example, does an apple fall straight to the ground, why not sideways? Thus one of the physical laws, Newton’s universal law of gravitation: F = GmM r2. (I’m not teaching physics so Google your questions.) One often heard expressions, when things go wrong is “things went sideways”. And we see it. Has the world gone sideways? Has my life gone sideways? Answer: yes. Unless our lives are governed by universal spiritual laws revealed in the Bible. (Psalm 119:151-152) Yet you are near, LORD, and all your commands are true. Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever. It doesn’t take an apple to the head to recognize truth. PK
