Saints 10-28-2026

Halloween, October 31, is in three days, but it’s the fourth day, November 1, I want to consider: “All Saints Day”. In short, All Saints Day is a Christian remembrance of known and unknown Saints of the Lord. It began as a memorial to honor those who had been martyred for their faith in Jesus. In Acts 7 Stephen is recognized as the first martyr of the church and that Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. (Acts 8:2) As decades passed and as Christians stood firm in their confession of Jesus as Lord, persecution touched the lives of nearly all believers. And so Apostle Paul, when addressing disciples of Jesus calls them/us saints. To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Romans 1:7 (NKJV) It’s doubtful you consider yourself a saint. And yet if your heart confession is “Jesus is my Lord” that is what you are. Lean into it, stand firm, and November 1 be thankful for the saints who’ve influenced your journey with Jesus. PK
