So your local convenience store just got robbed. (this is fictional) The first request of the investigating officer is, “do you have a security camera”? It’s hard to go anywhere where you are not being watched on a “security camera”. And I guess we call them “security cameras” because they are keeping eyes out for trouble, for the bad guys. That, I suppose, gives us a sense of security. But while the cameras keep an eye out for the bad guys, who’s keeping an eye out for the good guys? Ah, here’s the good news. (and you’re probably there ahead of me) (Psalms 34:15,17) The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. “Security cameras” record what trouble has happened; the LORD is right there with you as life IS happening. That is 24/7 security! PK
