While I was attending Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansa City, MO., I was part time youth pastor at Shawnee Nazarene. During the winter months it was not uncommon for us to have “snow-days”. School was cancelled and since there was no such thing as “remote classes” (another covid fallout) students were left stranded at home. There also were no cell phones, no social media, no x-box. How did we survive? So I created the “snow-day chain”. I would call two of our teen leaders who would call two others who would call two others and so on with the plan of when and where we would gather for sledding, snow sculpting, snow fights, etc. It worked and word spread quickly. Some of you may remember “prayer-chains”. Same principle. A church member needs prayer, the top of the chain is called and down the chain prayers quickly follow. Yeah, but now we have group text, much faster. True, but an emoji? …where two or three emojis agree in my name…yes, I know, forgive my sarcasm. But I wonder sometimes if we lose something when we not only pray for but WITH one another. Just wondering. PK
Ephesians 6:18 With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
