Tune of awe and wonder 02-26-2025

hfcnministries

I spent yesterday evening bathed in the music of a piano and cello concert. The musicians are world renowned and their talent, though I’m no expert, filled the hall with awe and wonder. The audience, me included, was captivated by the musical journey upon which they took us. I found myself thinking, “everyone should hear and experience this”. Then there’s the deaf, and I grieve their loss. How do I share such wonder with them? Of-course the greatest tune of awe and wonder is one heralded by angels proclaiming a “Savior, Christ Jesus”. And so borrowing Jesus’ phrase: “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” I’ve heard, and I’m thinking many of you have too. But many more have not, their ears are closed. I grieve their loss and ask myself how I can share such good news to them. Two things: First, we’re sent to sing: Acts 26:17-18 I am sending you to them to open their eyes [ears] and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. Second, your hope in Jesus is your song. 1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. So sing with awe and wonder.
