Growing up, my parents would constantly remind me of the “magic words”. There were two. It would happen when in my childlike exuberance I’d ask for something. In response they’d say, “what’s the magic word?” That word was “please”. Then, on it’s heels, once I received, I’d hear, “what do you say?” That word was “thank-you”. Please & Thank-you. Diligent parents around the world impress them into the minds of their kids so they will become not rote responses but an attitude of the heart. (Por favor & Gracias, Пожалуйста & Спасибо, 请 & 谢谢, شكرًا [& من فضلك ) Once that attitude becomes a way of life we begin to understand the peace promised in God as we practice daily these words of Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 9 And the God of peace will be with you. Let’s be a grateful people! PK
