Thundering voice 07/31/2024

In Psalm 18 David writes of God’s power to protect and keep him safe, “the Lord is my rock”. Then with these words he describes an awesome God: “He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—the dark rain clouds of the sky. The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.”  Yesterday Wendi and I drove into one of those “dark rain clouds”. Rain so heavy all you had to guide you was the white lines on the road. Keep to the lines and you know you’re headed the right way. The problem with life’s storms is we strain our eyes to navigate our own way, ignoring markers and wonder why we end up in the ditch. Lesson: slow down, be still, listen to the thundering voice of God resounding in His Word. “Thy Word is a path to my feet” Keep to the lines! PK
